Many new artists have felt this way, as they're riding a MONSTER mega-hit. They feel like it is so huge that it will last forever. Few have stated it to the media. None have lived up to it. What's your take on the subject? I don't think anyone has even come CLOSE to having 3 of the greatest singer/songwriters in their band (at the same time).

Hmmm. Interesting statement about Prince. Actually, I recall that statement being made by Terrence Trent Darby who now goes by the name Sanada. However, I will say that some of Prince's mid 80's material (Parade, Around The World In A Day Albums) had some Beatles influence.

(the dixie c's sold 2 mil last year, rascal flatts 3 mil, carrie underwood 5mil) PRINCE? It didn't cross my mind to even look for him or the artist formerly known as him.

There are a few bands I would say are close to Beatles legacy in terms of good songs and library - Prince is not one of them.

He's a has been - and he has been a has been for a long long time.

Noone has come close to the Beatles' stature. if any band is anywhere CLOSE, I would have to say U2.

But Prince and the Revolution would kick the Beatles' A$$es at basketball.

"Shoot the J! Shoot it!"

I can see the comparison. If he were to play them in basketball it would be Game! Blouses!.
