So why is Al Qaeda issuing statements about the war?
From Aljazeera news:
Al-Qaeda's deputy leader has described the US plan to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq as a gamble that is bound to fail.
Ayman al-Zawahiri also criticised the US Democratic party for not changing US policies, he said in an audio tape posted on the internet on Tuesday.
"[Bush's] addiction to gambling ... motivates him to continue to place losing bets until he goes completely bankrupt," al-Zawahiri said.
"Were the Americans to leave [Bush] alone, he would continue to send their forces to Iraq until the mujahideen kill the last one of their soldiers."

C'mon, do I have to explain everything? Al Qaeda, specifically Taliban, was responsible for 9/11. Think about it.

Remember Baghdad Bob saying that the American troops were not in Iraq when in fact we were in his city and you could hear the shooting in the background? Those arabs will lie if the truth sounded better.

al-Zawahiri, funny enough is right about Bush...
In case no one told you 9-11 was in 2001 not 2007. So the false link you are trying to establish desperately is not correct.
Plus, Al Qaeda is a loosely formed, decentralized, global belief system... not organized. This is why Bin Laden funded 9-11 by proxy and more than likely didn't know until after the fact that it happened. The whole "War on Terror" is overblown because people like you can't comprehend that 9-11 was done by all those who died as hijackers and a few (maybe 10 tops) guys who funded it. The reason others are pissed at Americans is because we have been ******* with them for years and yeah sometimes people push back when bullied.
So now we got it, do to irrationality. I hope your happy. But remember that they have always been consistant and clear about things. It is only we Americans who have bumbled through all of this. Only we who have been so led by faith instead of reason. This is why we are and will fail. I think that is a stupid waste of Life don't you? Probably not because you don't value it much it seems... You are an Islamophobe which blinds you.

But 9/11 happened a long time before Bush announced his plan to send more troops.
And seeing that American forces are there, and Iraq is more accessible than American soil, Al Qaeda will use Iraq to attack Americans.
To my knowledge, they came after us, not before us. This quote says nothing of them being there before we arrived, therefore, Iraq did not have anything to do with 9/11.

Are you actually unaware that the Taliban is not in any way shape or form Al-Qaeda. Are you truly this ignorant or are you just doing a parody of the damned conservative idiots who've driven our country into a ditch the last few years?
Hussein never sent funds to Al-Qaeda and anyone who says so is ignorant or a liar.

I had to laugh at True Grit's answer - good sense of humor.
I don't think Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, but I think that the fact that Iraq violated the cease-fire agreement after the Gulf War, gave us every right to go back in. Especially since the UN was doing *their* usual bang-up job - their resolutions are a joke.

It simply amazes me that people can't connect the dots. It's not that hard. We are involved in a war on a demented ideology - a war on terror. It is not specifically a war on Afghanistan or a war on Iraq - it is a war against Islamic extremists.
Saddam proudly encouraged Iraqis to suicide bomb thousands of innocent men, women and children inside Israel by paying a ransom to their families while gassing his own people and murdering any and all dissidents as evidenced by the mass graves we have uncovered in Iraq.
For anyone to believe Iraq "had nothing to do with 9/11" is both short sighted and ignorant. It was clearly orchestrated by psychos cut from the same cloth.

conservatives really need to learn that MAYBE THE TERRORISTS AREN'T ALWAYS TELLING THE TRUTH...
maybe they could have a reason to lie to us?
like, to keep us from going after them where they actually are?
but, Bush, 9-11 report and several other reports have all said that Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9-11...
or would you rather believe the terrorists?
I think we all can see the answer to that question... you would rather believe anyone that said anything that would support your ideas... you don't care who that is or if they can prove what they say... you just search out the ideas that prove what you want to think is right...
