After I was in an accident a few months back. I shut it off, went into the sheriffs station and filed my police report, got back into the vehicle, drove it into my garage, put a cover over my Sebring LXi and started saving money to fix it. The damage is all to the rear end. It has sat in my garage for a few months now but when I tried to start it today I got nothing. When I put the key in I got nothing not a single light or ding out of it. I tryed jumping the battery but still got nothing. I was told that there was a fuel reset button that might need to be pushed, but i still expected the car to at least register the key was in the ignition. Any ideas?

Sounds like you might need a new battery or a good charge( minimum 4-6 hours on a slow charge). All cars with computer control use some amperage while the car is off, even though the car is off, certain components still draw power( ex. clock memory, pcm, memory, etc.) A fuel reset will only cause a crank, no start, so stay away from thinking its that, good luck

This vehicle will have an Auto Shut-Down relay (commonly referred to as an ASD relay) for the fuel cut-off. It controls the fuel pump and ignition system, but that isn't your problem. There is no reset button to push on it.

If that was your problem, you'd still have lights and everything else, it just wouldn't start. It is possible that the battery is so dead that it won't even jump start, this would most likely be caused by a short that drained the battery while it sat, but could also be caused by just not being started for several months.

When you hooked up jumper cables to it, did any lights come on at all? Easiest way to tell is to turn on either your dome light, or the emergency flashers as they should always work whether the car is running or not, with or without the key in the ignition.

Very strange... Is it possible that your battery cables are corroded either at the battery or on the other end?

I was just scoping out my JX (I know they are really different cars), and the + battery cable goes to a fuse box before it heads out and into a bundle to somewhere else. Have you checked this connection - at the fuse box?
