Interesting...you stated your question as an absolute and permanent LOSS of your spouse versus not ADVANCING in your profession...

So, I'll keep my husband of twelve years AND continue to work in the same, solid job with a steady paycheck.

Solidarity is hard to find in this life and to be given that at home AND at work would be such a blessing.

Peace

I shouldn't have to chose. If my significant other was making me chose between my chosen career and them than they have no business being with me in the first place.

God will make the decisions for you just wait for a sign .If I had it to do all over again, I would wait on a spouse choice and further my career .Wait till I got older to settle down .If you need to ask us then you obviously are chosing your career .Love stands in the way puts everthing on hold.

that's an incredible question.

I would lose my career. If you are decent to average in one study, you can still get a job at a different firm, right? [rhetorical question]

That's tough. I really like my job and I don't think I could start dating again. My career. I could always find another.

Well since I am currently not working - I would say "career", not much to give up. My husband on the other hand, I can't live without!

He's standing over me so I had to say that.

I can always get another job. My wife is always more important. It's really not even a consideration.
