A couple things...

They say bananas are great for all sorts of things and pms is one of them. I have found staying on top of making myself feel a little better on those days helps... keeping up with the ibuprophen so you dont wait too long in between doses and have to wait forever for it to start working again. Eating better, taking the vitamin b's for stress.

Also, since even "reduced" pms is here to stay, the best thing you can do regarding your boyfriend is to just be honest about what happens during that time. It gives him the chance to "back off" or be a little more considerate during your period to avoid the landmines.

I always used to get so upset that something that was really bothering me that I went off about would be brushed off by my husband because it was that time of the month, like what I was mad about was suddenly a mute point because the period explains it all away or something. Looking back, its easy to see how much things seem to get amplified during that time. My husband has learned over the years to watch for my period and walk a little more carefully... its really in his best interest in the end. Periods dont give you the excuse to be a major jerk but guys need a little help sometimes understanding what a wirlwind of hormones are raging in us at that time.

The other poster mentioned B Vitamins and I have to say I agree with them on this one. Taking B6 is very good for helping PMS mood swings. I take it as part of a B Complex supplement. I get mine at The Vitamin Shoppe b/c of the way that the kind I use is designed.
