Hey, Cinn, you're misinformed. According to the latest research on the Gioconda (Mona Lisa), it is a painting Leonardo did of himself disguised as a woman; nothing to do with Mary Magdalene. You probably mean "The Last Supper" by the same artist.
If you read the Gospels, you can see for yourself that the gossip got around when Jesus was alive because he used to hang around this gal just a bit too long. True or not, word got around long before Da Vinci existed. He just subtly included the message in his fresco to get back at the Vatican.

They're not related in any way, shape or form, the Da Vinci code is a load of rubbish. The Mona Lisa is really Leonardo Da Vinci painted as a woman, that's why she's smiling.

They are not related, but DiVinci did do some paintings of Jesus and Mary and there is much evidence that there was something between the two. The christian religion then made Mary M. a prostitute to show how "bad" women were and if Mary M. was a prostitute then she couldn't have been the divine son's wife.

'the Davinci Code' was, is, and will ever be a fiction. Just go for the remote when you see or hear Dan Brown or his cage liner mentioned. Its not Mary in the painting..it is a young John. John usually looks like androgynoun because it is a way to show him as a young fellow that had not yet sprouted a beard. That is why the youngest inmates are popular in prisons. They are cuter than the lifers in the big house. The whole thing is something bigger for the checkstand tabloid readers to grab on to. Bat-Boy can hold America's interest for so long.

You don't. If you really want the background on the whole myth, don't read Dan Brown's book, read the non-fiction works it was based on or inspired by, by Michael Baigent, Henry Lincoln, and Richard Leigh: "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", "The Temple and the Lodge", and "The Messianic Legacy".
Not saying I believe all that stuff, but these guys pretty much invented the myth as it stands.
Enjoy your reading.

Actually, its if you look at the painting of 'The last supper. You got the right artist, just the wrong painting. If you look at the painting, you will clearly see that sitting beside Jesus is a woman and they say that there is no holy grail on the table because its a person.

They aren't related. Its just Dan Brown's cr*p, and I'm personally amazed that intelligent people like I assume you to be are still talking about his ridiculous fiction.

They are not relates. There were other inferences in the Bible refering to the diciple that Jesus loved. She was definitely a very big part of his life.
