Most people mean this when they say it, but life is so fast paced and stressfull that time just gets away. They dont mean for it to happen and Im sure they think about the person, while they are at work etc. thinking I need to call them, then they get home and are so tired, they end up vegging out in the recliner and go to bed feeling guilty and cant sleep. By this time it is too late to call and the cycle starts over again the next day.

Saying lets keep In touch is another way of saying " I know that we won't be seing eachother for a while but I just wan't you to know that I won't ever forget you "

People usually say that they will keep in touch, because it makes saying goodbye a little easier. Im very sure of that. : )

I think they generally really 'mean 'to but life get's so busy.Others just say it and don't really mean it at all.I don't say it anymore.but will get in touch at times when they least expect to hear from me...these are people I;ve known for a while though..otherwise 'take care' works for me...

Nice think to say, you wouldnt say bye to a person on good terms and say well im probabily not gonna talk to you again. How would that make you feel?

Because its a polite way of saying "there, I talked to you for a while so dont expect me to call you for another year"

It sounds much better than, "hey if we see each other again, thats great, but I'm really not going to go out of my way to get a hold of you."

those type of people are fakes!
they are not people you can call friends
or sometimes they think you are annoying and dont really want to talk to you
