Absolutely they can prescribe birth control. When you ask about weight gain, I assume you are talking about birth control pills. They can cause you to gain weight, also sometimes breast size. They also regulate your period, which can make it lighter and help with cramping. But certain people should not take bpc's, discuss this with your dr. I went off them years ago and found that when I took them I was much more emotional and felt better when I went off.

Yes the family physician can describe it. Although, I don't take birth control lol. It usually makes girls gain a few pounds. It definately helps witht he cramps I know because my g/f lost her cramps after taking birth control. Your breast size stays the same it does not change.

Yes, your family doctor can prescribe birth control pills for you. Just remember they protect against pregnancy, you still need to practice safe sex to avoid STDs. Also, this is something that a LOT of people don't know....if you ever get put on antibiotics for any reason, they can weaken the effect of the pill and you can get pregnant! While on antibiotics, use a back up method of birth control.

hi there they sure do prescribe the pill. As for putting or losing weight it all depends on the pill. There are several different types of pills. The best way to do it is to go to a gyno and do a blood test. This will tell them and you which type of pill is right for you. However the GP does prescribe the birth control pill.

Yes, if you ask.

To your other questions: the pill did not effect my weight any, it helped with cramps in the sense my periods got lighter after two years of taking it, and my bust size did NOT increase from the pill.

I have been on the Pill for 14 years and have been on five brands.
