I knew the second you said it keeps having babies what kind of fish it is. It's the ever-pregnant female guppy. These little critters can put rabbits to shame! Specifically, it sounds like one of the "Cobra Guppies." A female guppy will produce fry on average, once per month, even if a male isn't present in the tank. If the female has been with a male even once, she will have fry for up to 6 months after one mating. First delivers for a young mother, on average are between 8 and 25 fry. Subsequent delivers can range from 25 to 50 fry. As the female matures, the batch of fry can range from 40 to 100 in healthy females. Oh, and yeah, and, it's possible... if her fry are getting old enough, she could be getting pregnant from them..... now, isn't this fun!?

Livebearer females can store sperm and continue having batches of babies for half a year to a year from their last encounter with a male. Then as the babies grow the males can also impregnate her. This assures the survival of the species when its down to one last female.

It sounds like a female guppy. She'll probably continue having babies, they can store sperm. The baby guppies in your tank are probably also old enough to mate...they really don't have to be that old. Ask your pet store if you can donate the babies to them, or if you have room you could add a different kind of fish to your tank to eat the fry. Dwarf gourami are generally pretty good at this and they don't grow very large.

I actually only learned this a few days ago. A female live bearer can store the males sperm for up to 8 months. Your female could possibly get pregnant a few more times. It sounds like it is most likely a female fantail guppy (without a picture I can't be sure).

It sounds like a guppy but wouldn't know for sure unless I saw a picture! In livebearers they can store sperm from previous pregnancies and have babies for a couple months! Good Luck!

Banana sucker fish, a touch on the expensive part, going round for about 2-6 U.S. funds. yet they save your tank wiped clean. They wont problem any of your different fish. compared to the chinese Algae eater. do not get the chinese Algae eater because they require a minimum of fifty 5 gallons. And their very agressive. The banana sucker fish wont outgrow your tank. Ive had Benny ( my algae eater ) for 6 years. yep im fortunate. and he hasnt grown a milimeter. although, now that he's so old he doesnt do nicely cleansing the tank so im going to get yet another. have relaxing such as your tank!!!! Btw i might want to take out one platy bc 4 is a over load with 3 guppies.

You have a fantail guppy and they store sperm so they can keep having batches of fry even after they are no longer with a male.
And just so you know, one of the babies will get her pregnant when it gets older.

livebearers such as guppies and mollies will hold sperm from the last time they were fertilized for up to 6 to 8 times. so you'll be a happy grandma for a couple of months.
congrats and good luck!!
