What topic should my Argumentative/persuasive paper be on?

I need a topic, it has to be persuasive/argumentative, and in MLA format, please help i need to start it is due in 3 or 4 weeks

I think you should pick something more interesting than "standard" topics, and something thats really argumentative. How about this topic- "The television program American Idol is bad for the youth of America". You could then list things about how it makes it seem to a lot of kids like stardom is only a step away so they strive towards that rather than school, you could talk about how it encourages them to live the rock start life style, etc.

My only advice is to choose a topic that interests you. If you're bored with it, you'll have a very hard time finishing the paper.

Personally, I'd choose something like gun control, immigration, vaccines (are they good or bad?), and the state's role in sex education.

A good topic would be something like Euthanasia, gay marriages or gay adoption. Those are something alot of people tend to have strong feelings about one way or the other.
