ok so you say Kobe is not the best player in the NBA... who do you think deserves that honor?

I believe that Kobe Bryant is the best player because no one even comes close to his abilities right now. Players around the league admire and are on record as sayin "kobe is the best player in the NBA today" Players such as, Lebron James, Dirk Nowidsky, Gilbert Arenas (who idolizes Kobe), etc.. many of you will answer Steve Nash because he is a well documented "team player" and is the back to back MVP. Although, i do believe he deserved ONE of those MVP awards last years wasn't derserved. Kobe and even Lebron would've been better choices. Here's the deal guys we all know Kobe scored 81 points on a weak Toronto team. What the writers always forget to emphasize is that the Lakers were down the whole game and Kobe NEEDED to step up and win it for the Lakers. Kobe is the most feared CLUTCH winner in the NBA not since Jordan have we seen this. Dirk, Lebron, Nash, Arenas, they're all taking notes. ENOUGH SAID!

LoL Malice..i saw the gilbert arenas post and i started laughing as well!! ... he`s good, just not as good as most NBA stars...Kobe is just at a higher level than everyone...he can score when he wants...when he would score most of the lakers points, everyone would complain that he was a ball hog...not he passes the ball and everyone says he`s not that good.....when it all comes down to it..i`m an all time spurs fan and Kobe and the lakers are rivals....but hands down he is the best player and can do it all....Lebron is good, but i think he is over hyped and is starting to act cocky most of the time....

Kobe is the best because he has the genetics for it combined with hard practice, and intelligence. Look at him he has a similar body type to Jordan then he copied the best of Jordan's moves and that is a deadly combo. He's the best scorer, has best footwork, and probably has the best jumpshot under pressure too. No one in the NBA is close. His team is just not that good but they are better with Kwame and Walton. Especially Kwame because he can guard all the big guys in the NBA like Shaq and it just changes the game when you have a 7 footer.

Me as a Lakers fan can actual say i replaced right into a touch bowled over that Kobe made the All protective crew a lot less the first crew, i imagine he's deserved it in the approach the years yet this 365 days I only imagine he did not deserve making the All protective crew because he wasn't taking area in shutdown protection like previous years because Artest (more desirable bowled over that Artest did not make both crew) were given the honour of shielding the opposing crew's proper participant so this 365 days I do exactly not recognize what to assert for Kobe he continues to be my fav participant I only imagine he wasn't precisely deserving of the first All protective crew

I hate steve nash because i think he is like the most important peice of the sun and as of kobe being idolized it just in front of cameras and period, with that being said i think Gilbert Arenas is the best player in the nba period.

in my opinion he is the best player in the nba right now. if he plays defense as hard as he plays offense, then he'll be the closest impersonation of MJ that we will see in recent years. oh, and he needs 3 more rings too!

I agree pretty much with everything that the OP wrote.
Kobe is better on defense than Nowitzki.
