The bar may have some liabilty. If the bar contributed to the assault in any manner, they may be enjoined (brought in civilly as co-defendants to the actual assaulters) in civil court. For example, if they served alcohol, provided entertainment and had a large crowd AND they over-served alcohol to a patron who later assaulted someone AND their secuirity guard did nothing AND the parking lot was not well lit ETC ETC. A lot of things have to occur in the events leading to the injury. You as the plaintiff would have the burden of proving that the bar had a duty to you in some way and they failed to perform that duty and that failure is what caused or contributed to your injuries. Seek a good injury attorney in your area for a free initial consultation. Keep in mind that if you instigated in any way, your damages can be mitigated (lessened) or dismissed all together.
