I'm going to check out a magnet school for creative writing and one class is for monologues? If I'm going for writing, what exactly would I be doing?

Ah.... I see. Well, I'll go to the class. But I doubt it'll be one i actually sign up for. I'm going that day because the fiction class if before it!

you might be writing monologues, which are usually long and dramatic speaches of a sort usually performed by an actor.

Well, I am not sure what a monologue is, but I did write a ten minute monologue for a play festival. I wrote it about my accident and how it affected me in the last 6 years. I keep getting compliments about it for 3 weeks afterwards.

A monologue is a long speech, or some kind of play or skit done by just one person. You will be learning how to constructively talk about 1 subject for a long time.

A monologue is a speech spoken by an actor to himself... its like talking to yourself...and nobody is listening to you.. these kind of speeches are mostly spoken by villians in a play or any story...because they have to make plans to put hurdles in the life of the Hero of the play...just like in Shakepeare's play "Othelo"..Iago,the villian use to make plans against Othelo,the hero protagonist...i hope this information would help u...
