The purpose of life is to show us how to free ourselves from the influences of others. AKA Letting go of everything. Make it meaningful by giving yourself to someone else because now you know it will make their life better.

These are very open questions.....
In all honesty, we don't KNOW what the purpose of life is. I guess that's part of the point--the continuous quest for knowledge to dispel the darkness of ignorance. Different religions have different viewpoints in this, but they all rely on faith; the religion is not completely scientifically proven, therefore we cannot be SURE of the meaning of life. Since we can't view life outside of it, we cannot get the full view of what it truly is, and make an analysis. I think that meaning must be sought out by the individual--if you find meaning in painting, then paint, if in music, the be a musician. It is filling our lives with something that has more than face value to the individual.

Without an answer from a creator of life, the purpose of life is to make a purpose for yourself, you can learn secrets about life, or just follow a religion. Nobody is going to remember you 100 years from now so you could just come up with your own point of view and live for yourself/create your own reality.

I must agree with Megan N on this one. The purpose of life is to prepare for eternity, as author Rick Warren put it. What I should do in this life is show God that I love Him because of how much He loves me. He made a way for me to have my sinfulness forgiven and for me to be in heaven with Him for eternity, even though I do not deserve that in and of myself.

Your life is empty without God in your life. Without God there is no purpose or meaning. Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven. Then, you live for Him and try to glorify Him, but He knows we're sinners and can't possibly get to Heaven on our own. That's why He died for our sins. He knows what it feels like to sin without sinning. He know what we're going through without going through it Himself because He is perfect. The meaning, purpose, whatever you want to call it of life is to give all glory to God and live for Him. Then, if you believe in Jesus and have accepted Him into your heart when you pass away you will go to Heaven and worship Him, glorify Him all of your days.

There is no purpose to life. We are all one big accident.

So do whatever you want! Cruise the rapids, Live in the Amazon, live on a cruise ship. It doesn't matter.

Sometime ago this question striked me also. Goal of life is freedom. Freedom from pleasure & pains, births & deaths. Realisation of ur real self ."Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy by one, or more, or all of these and be free." _Swami Vivekananda.

My opinion:
The purpose of life is simply to enjoy it. You weren't put here for any particular reason (depressing), so that means you can do whatever you want with your life (not as bad).
