Of course Lennon was great, but sometimes it seems that a lot of people think that Paul McCartney wasn't.
He wrote a lot of amazing songs. Lennon and McCartney fostered each other's talents.
As an aside, one of my favourite things that McCartney said about song writing, was that with Lennon, they would get together and come up with new stuff, but they wouldn't write it down. If they couldn't remember it next time they got together, then it wasn't meant to be. Very cool way of working. Obviously it worked too.

Both Lennon and McCartney did very well as solo artists. They truly were an unbeatable team. Paul is definately a musical genius.

I don't think in terms of songwriting anyone doubts the greatness of McCartney; he wrote "Yesterday" and "Hey Jude" after all and those are only the two most obvious examples. My personal opinion is that, purely as a songwriter, McCartney was the best in the Beatles and among the best ever. He is held in lesser esteem than Lennon because Lennon has much more of a cultural and social presence and because Lennon's legend was strengthened by his death.

As part of Lennon/McCartney he was genius.
But I don't think Lennon would have given the world The Frog Chorus! (We All Stand Together)

Paul was the real genies in that band.Then Wings and solo stuff.One of the best bass players of all time.
