He keeps on putting his head out of the water and I think it means he is hungry but the clerk I bought him from said only 2 tablets a day and by the way he is a baby he is 8 months old so I'm scared of the consequences of not feeding him even more I am in a dillema please help me!!?

he wnats food!!! he isnot that little, my baby trutle is like 6 months old and he eats like fifteen pellets a day. feed it! or else it will die!!!
also pay attention to it, turtles like attention believe it or not. but feed it, okay?!!!! its gonna be bad if you don't. pet shop owners don't really know things, only breeders do.

turtles do that that like, they need oxygen your turtle should not be totaly sumerged in water it should have a place to come comepletly out of the water if it wants to such as a good size rock it is eaisly able to climb up on. and 2 tablets aday is plenty 4 a 8 month turtle if it gets hungrey it will eat

Drop some food in, just in case. He won't eat it if he isn't hungry! Just make sure you watch him fish it out if he doesn't after a couple of minutes, so it doesn't rot in his water.

Also, like they said, make sure he has a place to rest and bask. :)

The proper daily portion for a turtle is about the size of their head. They will beg for more, but it is our job to help keep them from overeating.

does he have some land he can crawl up on when he is tired?
