Winston didn't die. Or, at least, not in so many words. At the end he sees a vision of his inexorable fate. It isn't implied that he died exactly at that point in time.
Deserved to die? Are you talking as defined by my personal morality, or as defined by 1984's society? As a sympathetic character he probably wasn't. I didn't think he was a great guy, but I didn't think he deserved to die; though, considering that he probably would've been happier that way, perhaps he did.
O'Brien was a limb of the Party. He is no more or no less evil than the Party itself.
These do sound like discussion questions ... they also have no easy, concrete answer.

I though the book a let down in light of all the hype. Animal Farm was his best work of political fiction.
Winston (when he thought O'Brien was on his side) said he would kill and tourer people to overthrow big brother so yes Winston is worthy of death.(Unless he was just talking macho?) And yes O'Brien was evil. Gold-stein has some great quotes (from his book) allot of it is right on.
Side note: In the book "The Dual" , by John Lukacs, the author states that "Winston" is a play on Churchill and the contexts is that of the fascist world rising up which Orwell saw as the future. Nevertheless, as Neil Postman pointed out in his book Amusing Ourselves to Death, Orwell's vi son of the future has not come to pass where as that of Huxley seems to have.
Please give me five points I am almost at level 3.

what? He doesn't exist--he was vaporized--well, actually he couldn't have been vaporized because he never existed to begin with.
