Both Beatty & Faber have passion about what they believe. Beatty, however, approaches the discussion from a liberal perspective (ignore any attachment to current politics). i.e. Beatty believes that the people themselves have a right to seek out information and determine its value for themselves.
Faber, on the other hand, approaches the arguement from a paternalistic standpoint, i.e. "I know what is best for you, just do as you are told"

Hope that helps.
