Dreams come from your unconscious mind. How they get in there, who knows? Some people, I am convinced, connect with their own past lives or the lives (past, present or future) of their soul mates in their dreams. I also think it is possible that some of us connect with archetypes, gods and goddesses, saints and other entities -- including, unfortunately, demons -- in our dreams. This is why the concept of the "dream catcher" arose. The catcher is supposed to catch the bad dreams coming from outside oneself, letting only the good dreams through.

How much of this is all metaphor for electrochemical processes of the living brain, I cannot say. To me, metaphor and reality are more a matter of vocabulary than of truth. When it comes to dreams, what is truth? Here, more than anywhere else in our lives, truth is open to various interpretations.

But then, it always is, isn't it?

Dreams give us clues about what is ahead in our lives. The thing is we don't know how to interpret them very well. I think dreams need to be put in a journal every morning when you wake and hopefully there will be a connection that will show up.

Sometimes dreams is all a person has to hang on to. Their everyday life has let them down in some way. A person can loose everything they have, but no one can take their dreams. So the main importance is that your dreams are the only thing that you have that no one can ever take from you and they are something that you do not have to reveal to anyone.... they are truly yours!
