Most miscarrages occur within the first 12 weeks. Not all, but most. Generally speaking, couples wait until 12 weeks or the begining of the second trimester to announce the good news. What I'd do if I were you is just try to enjoy being pregnant. If something is going to happen it'd be out of your hands anyways, right? I know it's easier said then done, because I've had three pregnancies but only have 2 children. Good luck and congratulations on the little one!

Once you reach 12 weeks the risk dramatically diminishes. From my own personal experience, I had 4 miscarriages before any live births. They were at 6, 7, 8, and 10 weeks. I now have 3 children and was always thrilled to reach that 12 week milestone.

Hang in there, and if you have any bleeding or cramping, see your doctor. Because I was at such a high risk for miscarriage, I was having ultrasounds every single week. It's a good way to see what's happening, and seeing that tiny heart beating can be very reassuring.

most miscarrages occur in the first trimester, (up to the 3rd month)

are you asking if this is the most likely time to miscarry? if so then it is probably the most common time to notice it. any earlier and you would just think it was a late period. "most" miscarriages happen by 12 weeks, so most couples use that as their 'all clear' date.
