Traveling by air is the safest mode of travel there is.
It is more dangerous to walk to the corner grocery store than it is to get on an airplane.
You are more likley to be killed driving to the airport than crossing the ocean on a jet.
So take a deep breath. It will all be okay. Really. Trust me.

Let me ask you this, are you afraid of driving in the car? No? Well, you will me happy to hear a plane ride is many times safer than a car ride, you hear about well maybe a few major plane crashes a year, that is with millions of flights every few weeks, now think about this, whenever you turn on the news you always hear about fatal car accidents and whatnot. Planes are designed to be ultra safe, I have flown in Boeing 747s to Cesna 2 seater's, both felt very safe. The pilots and ground crew are trained specifically to handle on-flight emergencies, ranging from avionics problems to heart-attacks, do not fear, you are in good hands. Let me just say this, I have been on at least 100 flights without a hitch, don't worry. Best of Luck!

hey man don't even worry about it. It is more dangerous to go on the freeway. People die on the freeway all the time! Its actually safer in an airplane. The only reason they get televised so much is because they are rare occurances. Think of all these celebrities that take planes all over the world like every WEEK. My gosh! they're chances are big but its so rare that one of them dies in a plane crash. so yeah don't even worry about it. Think of all the awesome things you'll get to do in life as opposed to all the horrible things that MIGHT happen. life's more fun that way.

Relax and enjoy your trip(i would be nervous just like you since i have never been on a plane) As many car wrecks as there are-this is even more dangerous. I myself believe that when our time comes we will go out of this world one way or another and until that time comes we may as well settle down and try to enjoy life! Follow all instructions and stay calm. Maybe listen to music.

I've been on many flights both before and after 9/11. Nothing happened on any of them.
The pilots are trained what to do to save lives. The best suggestion I can offer is to pray about it and get others to pray with you. And trust that God can take care of you.

Just remember, the pilots don't want to die either! They have families and lives to go home to. flying on a plane can be scary but you need to remember that it is much safer than any other form of travel. Don't worry. You'll be fine.

I am sure you have heard that flying is safer than driving. In the circumstance you outlined, I imagine they would do a controlled emergency landing (as best as they could) and you would assume the crash position. After the landing you would exit the plane as instructed and if on land there would be emergency crews waiting. I doubt you have anything to worry about in the first place.
