When I was pregnant with my son (who is now 17 years old) I was standing in line at the post office and a woman actually asked me, "How can you in good conscience bring a child into the messed up world?"
I answered, "If no one brings children into this messed up world, who will straighten the mess out?"
It is all about perspective. It is natural to worry about what kind of world you child will grow up in, regardless of where you live. Parents have been doing it since the beginning of time.
Enoy your child and raise him or her with strong values, ethics and a strong sense of self. Teach him or her to be confident, to stand by his or her convictions and to fight for what they believe.
You and your child will be just fine. :-)

Your country will never threaten your child or any citizen's child with war. War is brought on by others, not us. And, yes it is normal to worry about all kinds of things like that.
Hey Cherry [above] lighten up will ya. Move to another country if you don't like it here.

I'm not an actual parent, but for me to see my Lil bro and sis go to war to make some F-U-C-K-E-N idiots rich does scare me. All i can say is, u will start worrying about everything from what they breath to who holds them. I actually see this more with dad then moms do, i guess its cuz dads don't really know their child as much as the mother, not that 9 month connection

Scared is normal. Don't worry so much. Your have a normal reaction. Good luck.
My hubby says he is fighting so our child won't have too. I love him to death for trying, but we don't know what the future holds. He's AF and has been in 12 yrs. Just got home in Dec from being over there.

Is normal. Although as a trying to be mom and an Army wife, I feel children should be given the opportunity to be born. There has always been wars and always be. So why think about it?

There will always be things to fear, you've just fixated on war. I don't think you should worry. Get out of the future and live in this moment.

Your kid doesn't have to join the army if he or she doesn't want to, obviously. The chances of being drafted are slim. The war probably won't be going on when your child is eighteen anyhow.
You have no reason to worry.
