What is the difference between Zulu (z), Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)?

UTC and Zulu are identical time scales.

GMT is close to UTC, but there are subtle differences.

Effectively none. There is a slight difference in measurement of GMT and UTC but it makes no difference for ordinary use. Zulu is the name of the time zone for UTC. Alpha is UTC + 1; Bravo is UTC + 2 etc. India amd Oscar are not used giving 24 letters for 24 time zones. Zulu is UTC.
