help???????

Question

me and my friend sarah are planning to go to california in the next 1 to 2 years... but how can we make enough money for a round trip plane ride/hotel/ and all in the matter of time. ( can't babysit because there's not willing neighbors)

i am 13. my friend will be around 17 18 when we leave.

Okay, first of all, good forward thinking to start planning now. Even if the trip doesn't work out, you will have a good amount of money saved up, and that is always a good thing!

There are lots of ways for young folks to make money. Consider some of the below ideas:
You could be a "mothers helper" ... while a parent is at home, you can help with the children, with events like birthday parties, help clean, do laundry, etc.
You could help an elderly or disabled person with cleaning tasks
You could do yard work for people, and/or mow lawns
You could make friendship bracelets and sell them
You could collect bottles, cans and newspapers for recycling (check how to do this and where to take before you start)
If you live where there are farms, kennels, etc you could see about jobs cleaning them
Sometimes car dealerships hire teens to wash their vehicles
The limit is your own imagination.

Also, while you are planning ... if you and your friend want to go alone, without adult accompanying you, there could be some potential problems, such as renting motel/hotel rooms, so work things out knowledgeably ahead of time.

get a real job but you do sound way to young so i would wait until you graduate high school....because it sounds to me like you are around 12 or 13 years old considering you say you need to "babysit" to make money.
