It's a day designed to get people's money!!
I would rather my man show me how much he loves me all year long..than to give in to some stupid "holiday" just because he is expected to. birthday...christmas...okay that's fine. but i refuse to give in to this vday mumbo jumbo.

YEAH. It's WAY too sentimental, mushy. And too commercial. It was supposed to be about faith for the church- and yet everyone celebrates it. It's been morphed into a nightmare.

What's with all the "love day" crap? It's like a roller coaster...

Yes, I agree it's a big money making ploy for all the sappy types. Not meaning that you shouldn't do sweet and romantic things for your mate, but as you said, these things should and can be done all year round, spontaneously. I don't care for how the merchants and retail industry pushes it so much you almost feel guilty if you don't get someone a Valentine. And I have been married for some time, but my husband and I don't get all stressed or feel bullied into buying each other something. Also, there are alot of single, and happy to be, people out there who don't deserve to feel like they are missing out on something.

I agree with you 100 percent, this holiday is just so all of the store's take our hard earned money. Why do we have to wait for this so-call holiday to tell the person that we care for that we love them? We should tell them how we feel everyday, because we never know how long we have to live.
People tell me that I think this way because I don't have a girlfriend. I think they just like to give away their money away. Seriously does anybody keep their Valentine's more than a couple of days. Do the roses live forever? No. Waste of money I rest my case.

THANK YOU! Finally, somone who agrees! Valentines Day is just a holiday made for people to get gifts.... its a material holiday, nothing romantic about it. How can anyone find a holiday that FORCES your loved one to buy a gift romantic? I mean, ther isn't any surprise to it...... and it would be so much better if you were given a thoughful gift on a random day..... not one where it is expected to give a gift. its ridiculous.

Before tonight, I thought that I was the only one to feel that way. Thank you for asking the question. I asked my husband NOT to give me a card or buy a gift for the 3rd year in a row

i do not, besides the undeniable fact that i do not bypass all out, Valentines day is an afternoon the position i can convey to a lady i love basically how i trust about her, and it shows her basically how a lot she means to me. the way I see it, it is the day the position the Mr. impressive guy in some adult men supplies a visit to the female he likes and resources him the braveness to ask her out or basically say "i love you", it is the way I see Valentines Day.

I completely agree with you. Valentine's Day is so commercialized. It's just another day for me, and also will be for my boyfriend.
