I try to teach my daughters a couple of things. Sex is not something that you should ever feel pressured about. Sex is not something that someone should ever hold over your head. Sex is not fun the first time and the only person who comes away feeling anything is the man. Your ready for sex when you are ready to care 100% on your own for a baby and for yourself. All of those things are discussed AFTER we have a discussion about pregnancy, diseases and how either one of those could ruin your life forever. As for the age, I don't think there is a number but I do know that 13 is way too young.

for some the right age is never. you said 13yrs with child, man! i can't lecture about this subject but good deal. live with it. as things such as work, education and child-care become easy thats when the appropriate age can be quoted.you'll figure it out one day. don't let some air-head tell you its 13 to 21. that will be false info. a lie. lifes lesson is better lived then spoken.holla back if things get hard for you. as these bozos would say (under 17 is too young) is even crazier. sex is a pleasure only to witnessed by those who understand. not for those who choose to get the infamous notch on the belt. your act was committed so most of these kats are giving off fumes to reality

I was the same age when I had sex the first time, but it was protected and I didn't get pregnant. I didn't do it again until I was 16 and I don't think I was ready then either. If I could turn back time I would have waited till probably 18. I had my first son 1 month before I turned 19.

I think when you are old enough to be able to handle a child with or without a partner, you have a steady job to be able to care for that child and you know the consequences of having sex (including the risks of sexually transmitted diseases). I think thirteen is very young and it is because they cannot care for the child on their own. Also, sometimes young children tend to look at children as something to love that will always love them (which is definitely not always the case) without restraint. I think it also helps when you are married, but if you have a steady partner who is helping that is good as well. I cannot put an age, but I am 24 with my first. We had been trying since marriage, but I am glad that I am at an older age. We are stable with a house and income that will help provide for our child. I think youngest 18 and that is if both of you have a steady jobs, steady place, and steady incomes. It is just my opinion however and others may see different.

i can`t say that for everybody in general, because some people are more mature at a certain age than others, but 13 is definitely too young.i was 15 and looking back that also was too young.i don`t tink there`s an age at which one should have sex it depends on the individual but under 17 years of age it wouldn`t be such a good idea.

I think a person is really ready somewhere between 18 and 20 - if you look at questions on here about when did you lose your virginity and did you regret it, it seems that the vast majority of those who had sex before this age regretted it, those who waited did not... my husband (then my best friend) and I waited 'til 19, and never looked back...
our best friend is a 33 yr old virgin, and I doubt he may ever do it (not for lack of offers, he's hot!)... to each their own, waiting for the right person is the best way.

I think any girl shouldnt have sex until they can take full responsibility of there actions which is at least 18...if a girl chooses to have sex sooner they need to make sure they are using proper protection and can take care of themselves and the consequences of sex...sex nowdays isnt just fun and arousing..it has tons of consequences that many many girls dont realise at the time until they get wound up in some themselves...Anything under 18 is too young...

When you are emotionally mature and ready. Sometime after 17 seems accurate to me; however, not everyone is ready at that age either. I was 19. My friend was 28. Another of my friends is 28 and is still a virgin. It just depends on who you are.
I think waiting until marriage is also a good option for those who believe in it, but I don't think it is realistic, informed, or practical.

It differs from person to person. You should be old enough to accept the consequences of what happens. If I had to choose a blanket age for everyone I would say 18.

Should'nt you be asking what is the right age to get married? the sex thing comes after marriage unless you are an atheist and don't care what God has to say re the situation.
