Acne Home Remedies
Here are some Home Remedies that some people have found helpful in stopping acne.
This information is not dermatologist tested and some of it may sound bizarre, but we wanted to provide you with all the possible solutions. If it has helped some people it could help you, but please read the Disclaimer before you try any of these.

1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. Any brand should do.

2. Dab egg white on your pimple and leave on for at least 20 minutes preferably overnight, this is supposed to "Suck Out" the "Nasty Stuff"

3. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne like soap.

4. Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably better. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head. Because it is a method of reducing the swelling and helping the acne "re-absorb" it should prevent scarring.

5. First wash face and then dab acne with cotton balls soaked in vinegar.

6. Place Strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.
Want something natural that really works? We suggest Vita Moor because it treats both the acne and the scars.
Remedy for oily skin: make a homemade mask by combining one egg white and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply mask and rinse with warm water after 20 minutes
For softer skin, steam your face over boiling water (drape a towel over head to hold in steam); remove dead skin with a loofah, drink lots of water
To rid blackheads, mix cornstarch with vinegar, plaster on the area for 15-30 minutes; wash off with washcloth and warm water.
Put cold, cooked oatmeal on your face, it can help give you nicer skin
To help skin glow, place hot towels on skin for 10 minutes, then splash face with cold water 10 times
rub cucumber peel (wet side up) on your face and leave on overnight to cure acne

Ridding Scars
Apply cocoa butter
Apply Vitamin E

To rid redness from a big pimple, pop 2 advil; it gets rid of the inflammation
Also for pimple redness, apply visine eyedrops

Cut the tomato in half and rub on the skin. Leave on for fifteen minutes. Wash it off with water. This will reduce open pores and blackheads. This treatment is good particularly for oily skin.

I've seen alot of toothpaste answers, and that definitely works!

Also, some other good tips: try not to touch your face - that is the #1 way I break out and stay that way.

Apply heat if they are the cyst (big ones deep under the skin) kind - it will help the infection to be re-absorbed into the body.

If they are blackheads, take a long hot bath and then scrub your face vigorously with a washcloth / hand towel at the end.

The toothpaste trick, calamine, rubbing alcohol, and aspirin all work. Another good one to try is diaper rash ointment. The main ingredient in that is zinc. Zinc is also great to take as a dietary supplement to prevent breakouts in the first place. All of these worked better for me than any other "pimple" cream out there.

Moisten an aspirin (must be aspirin, not Tylenol or Motrin/Advil) and place it on the pimple. If you have a lot of pimples, make a paste of water and aspirin and put some on each pimple.

Calamine lotion is great. Try not to use alcohol as some of the answers suggested. This is so drying that your skin tries to compensate and it will actually end up drawing more oil to the area and also enlarges pores.

I am still laughing because this is in mythology and folklore. But seriously, you can use some rubbing alcohol but don't do it often and put moisturizer over it because it dries your skin. Or, use toothpaste.
