Well, are you referring to the idea that "less is more"?
The simplest of questions are what we use to answer more complicated questions.
If I say, "Do I need to make a pizza," you would ask yourselves "Am I hungry" and other questions like, "Do we have the materials needed to make a pizza?". These are split into even smaller questions like, "Do we have tomato sauce?" and "Do we have flour?"
The responses of these questions help us answer the "big questions". Sometimes the simplest questions are more open.
Basically, I think the Socratic method could be generally applied to all things--answer questions with more questions.
So in conclusion, i think the best questions are those that cause us to keep asking even more questions!

Sometimes. I'd usually say no though. It's generally more enjoyable to answer a complicated question that gets those wheels turning in your head. Hence, the reason why so many people enjoy answering questions on this site (whether they know it or not).

It takes great insight and clear thinking to ask a relevant and rational 'simple question'. Therefore, yes, they are the best because they are the most difficult and the most productive.

sometimes. if all you really need is a "yes" a "no" a "maybe" or any other kind of simple answer, then yeah simple questions are great. but the best questions are the ones that no one can solve, it keeps people guessing until they go mad....

...simplicity is a relative term ...Some simplicity would be highly difficult to comprehend, we call it a stupidity, with which all the simplicity of it becoming highly complex even painful to be in touch with.... In human environment simple question often initiate unnesesary complex answer, did you notice that?

Occams' Razor would say that in order to find answers, complex questions can be shaved down to simpler questions and answers would be more easily revealed.

Not really. Life is infinitely complex, and it is equally as interesting. How do we ever expect to advance unless we ask deeper more complex questions?
