The 1922 Original version, of Bram Stoker's Dracula, called "Nosferatu" starring Max Schreck as the Count. This is a silent movie (no speaking) so don't go looking for it in 5.1 Dolby Digital-you won't find it. I saw it better than 25 years ago in public school, it creeped me out then and it still creeps me out now. Its a great film, remember its a SILENT movie, try it you might like it. There is no one particular scene that stands out in it because the movie as a whole is outstanding.

The Grudge (Japanese OR American version)
There is something SO foreign (and I don't mean because she is Asian) about the main ghost, her movements, look, the gutteral noise she makes... It just creeped me out to NO END!!! I seill hate looking into a darkened room due to that movie, AND I am 31 yrs old!

i see what you mean now though, for me it was always the exorcist, things like that scare the shite out of me. i mean a mask man is one thing, but least you can see him. a demon possessing your soul, now that will give you nightmares.
