My wife and I are trying to have our first child. Is there a position that is best for her to conceive? Is there something we can do to improve our chances?

I have had the sperm count check or what ever it is and the doc said I was good, and he checked my wife for what ever women get checked for and she is good. I want a kid so bad but for some reason it is taking forever.

We go about three times a day. Could that be the problem? Are we trying to hard?

I agree with the positioning that everyone here is suggesting. BUT, yes, I think you guys could be trying too hard with the 3 times per day method. You're going way too often. You need to just go every other day during her most fertile time so your body can create more sperm. The way you're doing it now, you're running out and not letting your supply replenish.

Here is the Problem. The more stressed you get the less chance of conceiving. You need to get rid of stress it is deadly to the reproductive system.
Calm down. It will happen. I planned both my kids right down to the day and hour. Get a book on having a baby. The secret is to have sex when it is most productive and that is not far off the time before her period (a week to 9 days). She needs to make sure her reproductive site is not too alkaline or too acidic. There are ways to correct this and test strips can be pruchased to check on it. Many health food stores and departments have these.
As far as position, mission is best. But the woman needs to be almost at an angle with two pillow under the buttocks. This is what the books say is the best. Remember too, if you are having too much sex trying to conceive it can work against you. It is not how much but rather the right time. Timing is everything and it even can help predict the sex of the baby. We did it.
There are really good books out there on the subject. The once to pick sex can actually help you concieve even though you may not want to know if it is female or male.
Also health is important. Cut down on drinking alcohol, no smoking, and good nutirtious foods. Drink lots of water as it gives you more semen and make sure your wife is not washing out her insides (this is bad). Exercise helps too. The more oxygen you get (aerobic) from moving around the better your whole reproductive system will be.
Please dont panic, when the time is right it will happen. Meditation can help you get rid of the stress and calm you down and clear your mind. Try it.

Having sex three times a day could be a problem, your not giving your sperm enough of a chance to replenish themselves. Once a day should be enough. Missionary is a good position some say to use a pillow under her hips after and lay there for a half hour, I say use a pillow during and after because it changes the position slightly and I think it is more fun. You can improve your chances by having her chart her basal body temp and check cervical fluid every day. When it looks like eggwhites it is when she is most fertile.

Missionary position. No caffeine for either of you. Do not wear tight pants. If you smoke, try quitting or cutting down. After you are done with intercourse, have her tilt her hips upward so the flow of sperm is directed in the right path. It helps a lot to make sure that when you have an orgasm, she has one as well. Female contractions help sperm reach it's destination, in an almost pulling sensation. Tell her not to take any ibuprofen, like motrin and such because it does affect the chances of implantation. Good luck!!!

No there is no position better than the other. Just have her stay lying down for a few minutes after. Make sure you have sex every other day for 2 weeks after her period so you don't miss ovulation. Don't you have a hot shower or bath right before sex. Keep trying, it takes on average 5-7 months for a healthy couple to conceive.
Good Luck!

I think the best thing to do is relax and stop thinking about it all the time. I think the missionary position is the best and then she should lie still for a while. My doctor told me to only have sex about 3 times a week so the man's sperm count could build up.

In addition the position, chinese traditional medicine says that early morning sex is best for conception... sperm is stronger, quicker. Also, don't have sex everyday. Every other day during your wife's most fertile week is best. This gives you enough time to build up new sperm. Best of luck!

The best position for conception seems to be missionary. Have your wife stay on her back for about 30 minutes afterward for good measure. You might try an ovulation prediction test to make sure you're on target. Good luck.

If you're having sex three times a day, you're doing it too often. Sperm needs a little while to recover after ejaculation. Instead of having sex constantly, have her chart her basal body temperature and her cervical mucus. It will show her what times she is most fertile. Save sex for those times. Sperm will have built up, and you'll have a better chance of one of them actually making it to the egg.

usaly if you try for 6 months and you have no luck they can start her on daily injections to help her ovulate. also do not use lube! most of it has spermie killers. and no oral! none at all. germs in the mouth could be messing up her ph also no douching! and lay flat for atkeast 20 min after words. also its best if she orgasums after each time. it helps the uterus suck up the sperm
