If you just starting going out today, then you don't have to get him anything. If you want, you can make him a card, but if you do, don't put a lot a serious things in it and DON'T put Love, (your name) because it is way to soon for that, it will probably scare him. Besides, unless he got you something, he probably won't care if he gets something.

Great ideas here about making him a card. Very homemade and personalized for him - song lyrics from a band HE likes, sports oriented if he's into sports, - something about him.

And the more simple message from the valentine candy "Be Mine" and signed by you.

When you give it to me, give a hug and if you want to kiss, a little peck on the cheek - but no more. Afterall, you just started going together. And don't be surprised if he has nothing for you. It happens.

Now if you don't mind an old man getting in the story telling mode: I was young once. I had 2 daughter who were young once. I have 6 grandchildren who are young. Around February 1, girls start trying to get a boyfriend before valentines day - for the romance of it (not the gift). Frequently, they break up within a few days after Valentine's.

Nothing wrong with that. It's part of growing up. Enjoy tomorrow - whether you find joy and happiness or hearbreak - it's all about growing in age and experiences. Something you can share with a young person some day.

Are you exclusive yet? If so, give him a card. If not, don't do anything. Also, it's not so much that you are too young to be dating, it's that the age difference seems a little big for people as young as yourselves. You might rationalize by saying " Well, my mom is two years older than my dad, so it must be okay" but it's a little different when you are twelve going out with a fourteen year old.

make him a card just to tell him how awesome he is but dont put lovey lovey notes is too soon and might just scare him away. and no hearts yet just have like a little friendship flower drawn on the paper. check out which color to use on the net.

You're only a child and have NO business buying anything for a boy! Doing this only makes you look pathetic and desperate!
Like it or NOT - you are TOO YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
