That will not work, however one of my friends who is a florist found a way to preserve flowers with all of their color.
She uses silica gel (you know those little dessicant packets you find in packages that sucks up the moisture) and completely covers the fresh flower in the silica for a few weeks, even up to a couple of months. It removes ALL moisture from the flower, while preserving the form and color.
Check with a local florist about possibly finding some silica, or find out if they offer this type of service. Do know that it IS poisonous, so keep it away from kids and pets if you do it yourself.

No way. There are people who will place them in a water globe and they will look as fresh as the day you got them. It doesn't cost much and will last forever. My son-in-law took flowers from my husbands grave and had some made for all the close relatives. They also put a slip of paper in there that gives the date of birth and death. Or any date & subject you want.

The best way to preserve a flower is to put the petals in a old heavy book, close the book and let the flower dehydrate. Transfer the flower onto a laminating sheet, arranging the petals in a flower pattern ... .. and laminate it. It's now ready to frame, if you so desire. It looks soooo nice, and will keep for decades. :)

No it won't last forever. You can hang it upside down and let it dry out near a window or over a sink. This still doesn't mean it will last forever..Trust me..if you're lucky you'll get another one somewhere down the road.

No...............drying a flower is the only way, either you place it into a humidifier or an old book for years or you go to your local craft shop and ask them
