My hamster just died about 20 minutes ago. The ground is frozen outside under about 2 feet of snow, what can I do with her instead of just throwing her away? I want to bury her but I can't with the weather being the way it is...

To the person saying Im only 12, I am not I am 17 almost 18, and very responsible, I just love small rodents, also she was an offspring of my brothers hamsters, and we could not find a home for her so I she was given to me.
To the person asking about the gender, Yes infact we did check to see if it was a male or female. The reason I had gotten her was because my brother mated hamsters and he gave me one of the babies, we had to seperate them by genders though while trying to find them homes and also I wanted to know the gender to pick a name for her.

Hi Amanda,
It's so heart breaking when we lose an animal we love so much. What I have done when I couldn't bury mine right away is I nicely wrap the body in paper towelling then I tape it and put the wrapped body in a Ziploc freezer bag. Make sure to properly label the Ziploc baggie in ink with pets name etc. and put him in your freezer.
The other option is taking the body to a veterinary hospital and paying for private cremation. It is expensive but well worth it if you can afford to do it. There is the standard cremation fees which goes by the weight of the animal, you can just get the basic tin which the ashes are returned in or you can pay additional fees for nicer urns. I hope either way this answers your question. You take care!
Sincerely,
Alice H.

I would wrap her lovingly in a piece of fabric or pretty paper... then put her in a plastic sealable bag, then slip her into a cracker box or some kind of little box, then put her in the freezer until the ground is warm enough to let you bury her.
I have done this with pet rats that died and also once with a pet rabbit that died. When you go to bury her, open the plastic bag first, so she can become part of the earth more quickly. It's just more sanitary to have her in plastic while she is in your freezer.

Aww. Thats so sad, but why did you have her outside when theres 2 feet of snow on the ground? The only thing I can suggest is to wrap her in a heavy layer of newspaper and put her in the freezer, you may also want to put her in a ziploc so she doesn't stink! Wait till the snow melts away and bury her in your garden, leave her in the ziploc or take her out of the ziploc.

Cremate her in your fireplace and keep the ashes in a jar to bury later. That way you won't have to look at the poor thing but you will feel better since you didn't just flush it or something of the sort.

Place her In a soap box as a small coffin. You can try to defrost the ground that you wish to burry her at. OR a far fetched idea get a flower pot with soil and do a mini site in the pot until the ground is soft enough, then bury whole pot where you wish to place her. far fetched idea, it may work

You can do a lot of things. Throw her in the trash, freeze her, put her out in the snow, etc. In poor countries, they'd probably cook her and eat her. Whatever you want. Her lifeless body is at your disposal.

It sounds really gross, but put it in a plastic bag and put in your freezer until the ground thaws.
