dryness can cause it sometimes, but I understand it is mostly a genetic tendency. If moisturizing doesn't help, there's not much to do about genes. Mine do that some too. But all my grandparents lived to right at or over 100, so if the nail thing is a genetic flaw, The other is a genetic blessing.

They are too long, or that's just the way they grow. Keep them short.

I have seen a Doctor about 2 of mine....weird it's only 2 one on each hand but they don't know why it happens.....if you find out something let me know.....Good Luck!
