Are you asking Guys or Women? Cuz the answer would be different depending on Gender.
As a guy I do not really want flowers.
I prefer a homemade card or a blank card written by her.
As far as dinner, I would prefer the opposite of the norm. If we eat at home a lot, then going out would be nice. If we go out a lot, then staying in would be nice.

Well, I don't have much of a green thumb, so florist flowers would be nicer than the dandelions in my yard. LOL
I prefer dinner out, but only because there is no stress on my husband. No cooking, no cleaning, no baby...
My husband is a wonderful writer, so I love when he writes me anything - homemade card, for sure!

This would really depend on how I felt at the moment, but I always love when gifts are from the heart...
I prefer flowers from the florist, dinner out, either card is ok...

Flowers from the florist, they have stunning arrangments.
Dinner cooked by my sweetie, even it it were burnt I'd still love it for the amount of effort he put into it.
Any card- I know it's a long shot because he never signs cards and believes it's a waste of a tree :P so if I could get any card from him I'd be happy!
