NO!!!! No gifts! Why buy her flowers, candy, and materiliastic crap on the most predictable day of the year? You need to show this woman that you truly care about her, not by buying things, but by loving her to your fullest extent everyday. Everday should be Valentine's Day! Don't buy her a gift because you're sorry, that's the stupidest thing I've heard. We women think that Valentine's day is when the man needs to buy us something and it's all about me and blah blah blah, well it's not! Write her a letter, bust out the crayons & markers and make her a card! What would you rather receive? Unless you're a materialistic person you'd be receiving gifts of monetary value, but no meaning.
Ok, this may be harsh, but you shacked up, had a kid out of wedlock, and may not be able to keep your "family" together. You need to get your act together and so does your girlfriend to make this relationship work into a happy, healthy, functional marriage-down the road. Get out the paper and crayons and get to work! She needs to get to work too! You can't take all the blame!

Ok, so the relationship may be over. So why not get her something anyhow. A dozen roses or a bouquet of assorted flowers. I understand that you still love her but if letting go is what you have to do then do it. Give her the flowers, and give something to you daughter. On the card tell her that you will always be there for both of them. Get on with your life, keep yourself busy. Never ever forget about your daughter. Who knows, one day the flame might burn bright again. I am so sorry and I wish you the best of luck. Happy (hopefully) Valentines Day.

Yes, if you still love her, then it's time your Valentine's present is a proposal of marriage, a ring, a trip to the courthouse for a marriage license and then to the Justice of the Peace. Start, by presenting her with red roses and chocolates, then making the proposal tomorrow, and top it off with a visit to your friendly jeweler, then the courthouse. Do that for all of your sake including that of your lovely daughter. Don't take no for an answer, but stop dragging your feet and get on with a decent life.

I considered the answers before mine..both females said no and the male said yes. I think that this is because a female sees that this is a relationship that is over. Why would you want to drag your emotions through the rejection that you may get or the response that she may want it..but feel obligated to take it. You must move on; your relationship is over and you have to take what is left of your pride and walk away. I am sorry but I wish you the best.

I wouldn't give her anything. I would get your daughter something. Try working on the relationship with your daughter. That will be the most important relationship in your life now. They'll appreciate it later.
