those are the expenses charged via agencies like that. For them, a time table A, that's for itemized deductions, is a complicated style. maximum of them probably see 10-20 of those types in a tax season. For a CPA, this is an exceedingly elementary return & you likely does no longer have paid as much as that in case you had consulted with a small CPA business enterprise truly of Block. that is water decrease than the bridge at this factor, yet i'd advise the two seeing a CPA/EA next twelve months or purely utilising lots of the applying applications accessible. have self assurance me, having loan pastime & genuine assets taxes to put in a form of applications is a breeze!

Unless your taxes were complicated, yeah you got ripped off. For what you paid, they should have done a RAL for you. Refund Anticipation Loan, and you should have had a check in hand in a matter of like two days.

i would feel ripped off. turbotax works for me everytime. they said last time 10 days for a refund. week later it was in my account, just did mine the other day so i don't know about this year.
mine are simple though, if you have a lot of stuff you are trying to deduct, or you have income from other place than a job i would go through someone that had some kinda experience, if not turbotax is the way to go.

Jackson-Hewitt screwed us. We paid $230 for rapid refund and got screwed on state. The IRS is trying to screw us by saying we owe child support because JH put a different driver's license number on it.

it costs a bit if somone is preparing your taxes for you....i believe it depends on how much you are getting back...like a percentage of that.
i remember paying about 150 dollars when i went to HR block...so that sounds about right.
that was a few years back...it really isn't hard to do your own taxes. just follow the instructions on the pamplet. i always do my own now. if i get to the point where i'm making vookoo money, then i'll go back to them...but until then, i need every bit of my money..so i'm doing it myself

"A refund means that the government got to use your money all year for free." Rapid refunds are predatory practices. You can use TaxAct for federal and it costs $20 or so for state.

I know their fees are a little high. They charge by each form they have to fill out and each thing they enter the return, extra for extra W-2 forms, interest income and so on. You should ask them to explain the charges, they are pretty standard.
