It depends on how overweight the person is..for instance if it is just a bit overweight by no more than 50 lbs or so,there shouldnt be that many problems..If the person is extremely overweight then yes they will most likely have more problems than a woman at an average weight...diabetes,high blood pressure etc are all complications during pregnancy that can be of a little harm...I knew a girl that was obese, she prob weighed around 300 lbs or so *maybe a little bigger*,she did end up getting gestational diabetes and had high blood pressure and had to take off work around 24 weeks but everything turned out fine, they placed her on a special diet that was recommended for women who had diabetes and her baby was perfect..she has 5 kids all togetehr *pregnant with another* and so far so good....=)
U just have to be a little more careful and watch things a little more..

There are some risk, but being overweight in and of itself is not a risk and does not put you at high risk. If you are healthy and have good eating habits things should be fine. However, when you overweight you can run the risk of having a higher rate of gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. This does not mean an overweight pregnant women will get it. I am overweight and I am not high risk. I am fit and have a healthy lifestyle. Try not to worry to much but know that the risk are there. However, also know many, many overweight pregnant women have very healthy pregnancies.

15 weeks and 6 days pregnant.

You should definitely eat healthy foods, but the exercise needs to be monitered by your doctor, especially if you are very overweight or if you did not exercise before becoming pregnant. Usually walking is ok, but you really need to talk with your doctor about it to be safe.

overweight can cause a lot of problems including...high blood pressure, gestational diabetes....i was overweight with my children...the first i was on bedrest from 5 months on because of my blood pressures and had to take insulin shots because i developed gestational diabetes, and spent many nights in the hospital for monitoring my blood pressure. with the second i was on bedrest starting at 4 months and also had to take insulin. the third i am now carrying and i am on blood pressure medicing and taking insulin shots. and i didnt mention the back pain and aches. i would suggest you see a dietician to help you get on a healthy eating plan. your ob should be able to help you with that
