I've been racking my brains trying to remember the name of a T.V. show that I'm not even sure existed! Even if this is just a muddled mix of memories of childhood viewing and sugar-fuelled dreams, it seems no less real in my imagination.
It was about a guy who watched so much T.V. as a child that, in his mind, his adult experiences all intertwine with the events of the many shows that impacted on his subconcious as a youngster. I think episodes revolved around the associations and connections the main character sees between his present adult life and his vast collection of T.V. inspired memories accumulated while being raised by the box. These frequent reminders/deja-vu moments are prompted by subconscious flashbacks. Pretty sure it would have been an 80's show (possibly late70's). If it doesn't exist, someone oughta make it!

I think that you may be remembering "Dream On' with Brian Benben in the mid-80's. It was an HBO show and a little risque for the time but not too bad. He saw the world through film clips and early TV shows, and the opening segment has him being plopped down in from of the TV as a little baby and gradually growing up through the Westerns, Mickey Mouse club, Leave It to Beaver, etc.

This exists. I remember it. I am not sure if it was a tv show or a movie. Hmmm.... it might have been one of those short half hour fillers shown between movies on HBO back in the 80s. But you are not crazy. I am seeing bit and pieces of it in my head as I write this. I am trying to figure out the main actor cuz then I can IMDB him.

I can't tell you the name of the show.
I do remember it was co-produced by Eddie Murphy. It had it moments, I think that CBS didn't
give it a fair chance because people might read
and think for themselves.

OMG... now that you mention it I totally remeber that show but for the life of me i can't remember the name of it... I just asked my mom and she looked at me like I was out of my mind but yes it is a real show... I hope someone knows the name of it cause it's gonna be bugging me now...

This was areal show.The full name escapes me but it had dream or dreamer or something like that in the title.
