They take notes when people say things and such, but what exactly are they looking for in a group interview?

They are trying to get a feel for how a prospect deals with groups. Do they paticipate and ask questions, make suggestions? Are they polite or do they interrupt others? Do they take notes or refer back to what someone else said earlier? When hiring people to work as part of a team, it's most important to know that the prospective employee is comfortable in groups, works well with unknown others and can be an asset to the team.

Peace!

The only purpose of a group interview is just like any "Hearing".
There are more people that can ask more questions, instead of just 1 person at a time, or a one on one interview.

Depends on what kind of group interview it is..

For example if its a type where the interviewers give you a situation to solve...
they judge how well you listen to other..how much you participate..if you are a leader type or just somebody who listens and do waht other says...

If the group project is a debate:
your communication skills...
how you use evidence to backup your theory or argument
if you lose your temper or if you are calm

here are some websites you can use to prepare-

Someone who can stand out in a crowd!! (That's why they invite a whole crowd!) :)

Usually people have group interviews because they are looking for more outgoing personalities. Just make sure you are the most professional and friendly in the group. Talk to the other candidates and don't look intimidated!
