Uh, why would I CHOOSE to live a life where I am ridiculed and made to feel ashamed. Not to mention, if I have to hear one more guy say, "Oh man, can I watch?", I may just go postal.
And BTW, I have never been hurt by a man. My father and I have a wonderful relationship. As do my mother and I. I have never been raped. I had a very happy childhood. My life has been great.
So, why would I choose to be gay. There probably are some people that choose to be with the same sex because of a traumatizing event in their life. But, I don't believe they are gay. I think they are just hurt and scared individuals.

People are born gay, but this is sometimes not evident in childhood. People are born with a preference to be right-handed or left-handed, but this preference does not become noticeable until there is the need to prefer one hand to write with. People are also born with a preference regarding sexual attraction, but this preference is usually not apparent until adolescence.
It has been scientifically shown that being gay is biological and genetic, with the genetics not being a single gene but a genetic combination.

I myself wondered this very same question. Except, I did my own research for this one. It turns out that many scientists agree that it's caused by a lack of testosterone, or inability to create a necessary amount for proper development, in the mother. This is *most commonly* caused by just having another child (maybe 2 years later, depending on the mother).
It makes sense too... My older brother was born about 1 and a half years before me and he's about as straight as it gets, while I on the other hand, turned out to be bisexual with a stronger attraction toward guys.
However, no matter what, it doesn't matter if it's biological or cultural, it happens, and it happens for a reason. Count your blessings and don't go against it. Thousands and thousands of teens in the US alone need your understanding. They're suffering in school and in life as a whole because they can't be who they really are, and that's who God made them to be...
And I don't care who you talk to, if God made me bisexual and you gay, he did that because it was his plan. He wanted me to be the way I am, otherwise he would have made me differently.
Encourage others to to appreciate God's gifts... Best of luck and God bless you!!! : )

There are a lot of gay activists who want you to think that you are born gay. There are choices in this world - they are in front of you all the time. Your biggest power in this life is that you can choose on every level. If you were locked in a prison, you'd still be able to choose how to think about your prison. That is, unless you listened to people who told you that you had no choice!

I think it varies. I'd say it's mostly genetics, but if a female was raised in an environment where a male was a negative impact on her, that could contribute to her being gay.

No. They may be born with some genetic predisposition to the behavior, but that doesn't make them gay. Every person has free will, and even through our bodies and minds influence us, as well as our environment, we still must take control and commit to doing the right thing.

People are born predetermined to an orientation. No one is born sexual. It kicks in later in life, slowly, and at different speeds.
