In the episode "Never kick a woman" Popeye teaches olive how to box and some sexy female boxer flirts with Popeye. This makes Olive jealous. So she challenges this boxer babe and loses. Then the babe flirts with popeye some more and Olive eats Popeye's spinach and catfights the boxing bombshell. After she KOs the babe, she beats up Popeye.
Now my question is, if you were in Popeye's shoes, would you leave flat, stringbean Olive for a busty & curvy boxer babe?

IDK, I imagine if I were Popeye, I'd eventually get sick of having to fight my gf to get what I want, especially after having a pushover dollie like Olive...

You have to remember that Olive Oyl and her brother Castor (and their parents, Cole and Nana, and their uncle, Lubry Kent) were introduced in 1919, ten years before Popeye was created, in the Thimble Theater comic strip. So Olive was right in fashion, as a 20’s style ‘flapper’—thin, bustless, with no waist or hips.
I suppose that after all that time at sea, almost anything would look good to Popeye. Or that he’d been punched in his (one remaining) eye so often during fights, he could no longer see straight out of it, and he thought Olive was beautiful. Go figure.

It would never be right if popeye left olive oil. It would change the dynamics of the cartoon dramatially so NO
