I am looking for the actual ground distance (KM/MPH) and the driving time.

www.navitime.co.jp says it's 1182.5km, will take 17 hours and 7 minutes, cost 23,200yen in fees, and produce 204576g of CO2!

That would be about 14 hours at least. Figure 3.5 hours from Misawa to Sendai, another 3.5 hours to Tokyo and then 7 hours down to Osaka. My guess is it's about 1100 klics as the crow flies, but I don't know the exact road distance.

It looks like at least 1,00 miles. A very long way to drive especially with gas prices in Japan, you should consider the train.
