For example, you have huge arguments with someone at work over trivial things because you secretly have feelings for eachother, but you may get along just fine with everyone else at work. Why do the feelings sometimes turn to anger?

It's easy to get upset with someone you're interested in because they have more power to hurt you. Whenever you want someone, you've put your feelings on the line, whether or not you express your interest. So when you're in the initial stages of feeling out whether or not a meaningful relationship could form, any small form of rejection can be interpreted as whole scale rejection. For example, if you really like someone, and you don't know how they feel about you, you start looking for indications, and if they disagree with you on something, then in some small way, you may interpret that to mean that they aren't interested back, even if that is not at all the case. To save face, you "reject" them back in the same way.

sounds like infatuation, in the end you'll realize there's nothing in common and actually may turn out to be that you're just totally utterly different in many ways, if you think about and start making a list of things what attracts you about this person, you'll then be going "eww, I can't believe I had a thing for this guy?!".
Good luck!

Pretending that the relationship/feelings don't exist that way rumors don't get started at the office.

love works in mysterious ways.
you obviously fancy this person,
so you start being sweet,
and you might just find what your looking for.

Frustration maybe. Maybe its fear of your true feelings coming to the surface.
