does that mean they will also be considered "normal" and will be "accepted" by everybody?

I say no way! If they want to get married, let them! They still lead DISGUSTING and STD filled lifestyles! How Is that "normal"? Why should that be "accepted"?

By the way, although it has been discovered that hormones play an influnce on a person deciding to be gay, that influnce is minimal. The environment in which he grew up in plays a MUCH bigger factor. There is no such thing as a "gay chromosome."

Y'all want my sources? Here you go:

“I don't believe in something called 'the gay gene', but I certainly believe in the possibility that there are genes which affect sexual behaviour. It would be silly not to. They do in every other animal, so it would be entirely likely that they would in humans.”
Professor Steve Jones

Subsequent reports in the media suggested that the ‘gay gene’ had been found. It is, however, extremely unlikely that there is a single ‘gay gene’ to determine such a complex thing as sexual orientation, but our genes may still influence the way in which our brain perceives sexuality and its interaction with the outside world-www.geneticfutures.com

I got plenty of more sources that I could quote from. Do you guys want them?

And by the way, I'm normal! I want to sex with a man, while lesbians want to have sex with a woman! How could a woman want to f..k a vagina? And how could MEN want to f..k a penis? Are you telling me that that's NORMAL?

I sure hear you. No, just because they pass laws to say they can marry doesn't make it NORMAL. And Yes...it's a disgusting lifestyle when men try to make an outie, and inny. Just think of all the ecoli bacteria. My ex had worked with a homosexual male, and he had admitted to my ex that he had to ware a rectal plug to keep fecal matter from excreting unintentionally. Now, if others want to call that life normal...good for them. However, I believe in what the Bible teaches and theirs is a luid sexual practice. Eeeww.

We all know the story, of Sodom and Gomorrah?
And yet this is a problem since then with human sexuality.
However they are entitled to do and be as long as they are not hurting anyone. Just like a heterosexual. I think sex is a real problem and I wish we were never made this way! Love is one thing, sex is another and when combined it is beautiful. But there are all sorts of people and all kinds of love. You don't have to concern yourself just ignore it. If two people want to be together in holy matrimony they in our average religious groups they cannot be gay for it is a sin! But if they want to be married by a Judge then yes it is legal. Big difference legal and holy isn't it?
One is political and the other is religion? Israel just allowed Gay marriage by the courts but not the religion? That is something that they felt was imperative. Now they can keep track of them too eh? I don't think government has the right to decide these things! Unless they are willing to admit this is a Judeo/Christian Country and we go by the laws of the Bible as well! Or how else would we have formed this government? Romans had Gays galore and that was legal there, but it sure was not here eh?
so we must give contracts for what? To keep track of you so you will pay taxes? And you vote and you patronize their businesses?
Government is so corrupt isn't it? Gay is un-natural and it will always be an un-natural act if you are talking about sex? Humans are not made that way but things get altered and confused. If you realize that men love men in a deep way in friendship and there are many men that have a wife and yet love their men friends much more, like a pack of dogs? eh? What do you call them? Married for convience? Loyalty is important in any relationship, and There is such an enormous Divorce Rate between men and women? I think that we are all screwed up and need to re-evaluate our morals and understand that we are not going to live that long to afford all these mistakes we make in our short lives! I emphatically support your beliefs, but I don't hate gay people, I don't understand them to hate them? So I just think they are different and that it is their personal business? I know gay people and we never discuss their sex? But I see they bond with a male better than a woman and as I said many men do that and are married?

I agree with you for the most part! They are not born that
way. I don't think they should be married at all either, but
they feel they should have this right to do so.
I think some gay people are really good people, but many
do not realize what caused them to think the way they do
or why they feel the way they do.
Many Gay men started out being picked on & bullied by
the so called normal boys (these guys are not normal)
who fight weaker kids so they can look good to their silly
friends. I lost a brother to AID's. He was only 31 when he
died. It was a slow 10 year process of in & out of the -
hospitals,& he has to take all kinds of med's,& he truly
suffered. We loved him so much & miss him. His life was
so precious to us. When he realized that we all really loved
him gay or not,he told us all kinds of things & his reasons
for why he "chose" the gay lifestyle. It is where he felt totally
accepted by other guys as friends,ect....
When a young boy wishes he could be like all the other boys
and longs to be accepted by them, this normal desire can one
day grow into an obsession! What starts out as a normal thing
like being accepted by the guys as one of the guys, turns in an
obssession if the boy never is accepted in with the other guys.
It's normal to want to be like the other kids, but when that need
is not met,it can turn twisted & it often confuses the young boy
why he feels this way about other guys.
There is a very helpful book available out there or was by a man
who was once gay himself, called,"You Don't have to be Gay"
by Jeff Cohen. You may have to special order it,but I would
recommend reading it for all those who love a gay person,
cause it really goes into great details & explains so much.
Don't hate the gays, some are truly good people,ok?

Which report have you been reading. Environment leads to homophobia but not homosexuality. To say that you'd be ignoring most reports contradicting your claim. I'm not big into the gay marriage idea. But the misinformation the church goers are pushing, such as the dribble you've spilled, makes me think they should get married. Since other people's business seems to rattle you so much, maybe you should so some soul searching.

Please cite the source for your information concerning STD filled lifestyles, hormonal influence on sexual preference, environmental influence.

You seem to be a fearful person completely ignorant of the facts concerning homosexuality. There is much really good information out there. Perhaps if you did a little research, you wouldn't be quite so hateful.

I hat t break it to you, but you do not rule the world, everyone is not a Christian uptight person and they don't care!
how do you presume to know what lifestyle gays and lesbians lead, if you did some research you would find many people are just like you, now that's scary isn't it?
do you really think you are normal?

You tell 'em! I agree 100%. They're always yapping about equal rights, but they already HAVE equal rights. They can marry any person of the opposite sex they choose. They want different rights.

I see someone already trotted out "homophobia". I don't believe there is anyone alive who exhibits an irrational fear of himself, which is what a homophobe would do. The next time homos pull a "word" from their overused posteriors, it might be a good idea to consider accepted etymology.

First paragraph: Unfortunately, No.

Second Paragraph: You lead a disgusting, hate-filled lifestyle. Why should we accept you?

Third paragraph: Does it matter? We live in a free country and unless they are violating YOUR rights (like your right, for example, to marry who you want) then nobody cares what you think. Go ahead and think it's disgusting, it's none of your business.

brittany, marriage is more than that. It is an important part of American law, ingrained in everything from taxes as you said to child custody to end of life issues and inheritance, medical issues, and immigration. It is NOT based on Christianity, it exists in every religion and in every nation's secular or religious law. It is a social issue, and the fact that I am not Christian does not invalidate my marriage and by no means will I allow you to call my marriage with my wife a "civil union". This is a civil rights issue. Any consenting adult can marry any other consenting adult, with or without your approval. And how do you propose that we provide a father and mother for every child in the U.S.?

olde, what you are describing is, although it's impossible to catch them for it, fraud, and one which doesn't affect anybody very much. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater because some people abuse a government program... or should we get rid of social security because some wealthy people receive benefits?

oh my goodness! are you saying that gay people are the only ones that live "std filled" lifestyles? get real!!! straight people has just as much unprotected sex as a gay person! there are many gay people that live safe lifestyles...just like straight people
and i am not necessarily for gay marriage...but i feel that it is not my place to tell others what they can and can't do with their lives...i suggest you start living by that motto

I believe that they should have the right, however, of their own religion. They need to make their own religion for it to be totaly ligit. It does not seem right to marry into a religion that bans what you are. Plus, they should not violate the sanctity of Christianity by doing what they do. Make their own religion and they can do whatever they want.

Exclusively lesbian women have a lower STD rate than straight women. The biggest risk factor for STDs is having sex with men.

Anyway, if you want gays to be miserable, you should be encouraging them to get married.
