After being married for 15 years I would say mistress, I could send him home when i'd had enough, don't have to see him every day and let the wife deal with all his mess, why would I be alone on Xmas day, I have family !!

I would rather be the wife the wife doesn't just get all the hard work and the simple things out of a marriage she See's all of the above the good and the bad. There are some things the mistress will never see.All she will receive is instant gratification nothing long term.and know one wants that for ever.the wife will always have all the respect . She will receive just a much as the mistress and more.she will be his long term investment.(in most cases) the mistress will eventually realize this after the many lies shes been told and will be to emotionally attached to break it off without causing havoc(for either party) So at the end of the day i believe the mistress is all that she is referred to as (a fling) she probably has low self esteem and doesn't think she deserves anyone for herself. The wife may not always be the only one but she will always be #1. ( in most cases)

A mistress is short term with no contract, just promises. That is, a mistress gets nothing except 'the moment" when the mister dies. Whereas, the wife is everything that's left by the mister. I've known mistresses who spent a lifetime with the mister and wound up with nothing except the gifts given, and then some of those gifts were returned to the estate upon his death, at the demand of the wife. Enter a child into this relationship, and the child suffers the greatest because of the very fragile bonds.

Still, no question.
I have always gone out of my way to only ever be involved with someone who has no "ties". I would never want to be "the other woman". A girlfriend/wife or nothing.
It is up to both parties in a relationship to work at it, keep it fun and keep it exciting.
I have ben married now for 12 years and yes it might seem boring to an outsider, but I still get butterflies in my tummy when I get an unexpected phone call or a hug when I am in the kitchen and not expecting it. I will take that any day over being second best.........

well if i was a woman
i would choose to be a wife
cuz even if the guy cheats the wife gets all his possessons if he dies be4 divorce
the mistress is only for pleasure and gets good treatment for more better sex lol
also the mistress would most likely spend holidays alone and
ppl will hate u for being a homewreker if that word gets out by the wife
no1 will like her
if u were the wife
you would be 100% right as to him coming home to u
but the mistress who knows
one day he might not come

The wife to a man who wont cheat is the trick - we've been together for 11 years and I know he loves me, is my best mate, is always there for me, we share a lot of mutual friends and so are out a lot together (though we do have our own lives) . Mistresses tend to be just satisfying lust or emptiness in an existing relationship. There's nothing loving in being used for self gratification. If you were valued and they had a back bone, they would end the relationship with the current person before commensing something with someone else. And if that's how you're relationship started, watch out because what goes around, comes around. My husband does lots of special things for me - today I woke up to lots of roses around the house, with post notes with little messages - a big bunch of flowers and some candles around with card. We often do little surprises for each other. Doesn't matter whether you're a wife or not, what matters is that you're with someone you can trust and respect and who trusts and respects you - and good people are out there. I think people who settle for being someone's mistress or wife who settles for her husband cheating or husbands allowing that - are doing themselves an injustice - there's always someone out there who will value you enough to make you the centre of their world and vice versa and when that happens it's truely special.

If you're talking about best treatment, it's probably the mistress. However, I'm going to choose being the wife because this is a more respectful position. In the end, respect is way more important than a brief time of 'best treatment.'

That's a tough one. I've been both, I am now a wife. Being a mistress is fun if you ever get to see him, if he doesn't feel guilty all the time, if you don't feel guilty for potentially ruining his marriage, if his wife never finds out. Yeah, the sex is usually great and exciting, you always find him attractive because you see him so rarely but when it comes down to it, he goes home to his wife. As the wife you see him all the time, you don't feel guilty, he doesn't feel guilty (well, unless he's got a mistress, heheh), and you are the wife. But, the sex gets boring, you might stop finding him attractive, he may stop finding you attractive, the excitement all but disappears. At least being the wife you know he's coming home to you. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just have both the excitement and the comfort?

Well, I am a wife. I have a wonderful husband who treats me like a mistress. We take off on spur of the moment weekends for romance, leave love notes around the house, and make it a point to put each other at the top of the priority list.
So, I guess my answer is both . . . I choose both! The excitement of lust and the security of love.

Keep it in your pants from now on. However, what your wife should do is get a lawyer, file for divorce, sue your mistress for alienation of affection and take you for everything you have. That's what I would do if I was her.
