No, I have not. That is very rare. But if you're scared, make sure the item is insured when you check out with paypal incase it's lost, and make sure the seller lets you return things. If you do those two things you'll be certain you're perfectly safe.

Been pretty lucky. I would say I have been scammed a few times, but never for much money. Paid for one item that I did not receive, but it was a pretty cheap item. The one that pissed me off the most was I was the winning bidder on one item that I then paid for with Paypal. The seller would never collect the payment from Paypal and even after several weeks would not answer my e-mails. I think the item went for less than he wanted so he just decided he was not going to accept my money. After several weeks and no word I retracted my payment through Paypal, then almost a month after that he leaves negative feedback and says I never paid. I tried contacting E-bay, but that was just a waste of time. Overall I have had mostly good experiences with E-bay and still use them. My rule is I don't spend much over $100 on an E-bay purchase.

No, I have always gotten what I ordered & mostly in excellant shape. I haven't ever bought anything real expensive though, the most I've spent on one item was $170.00. That was for a very nice prom dress for my oldest daughter. It arrived well packaged with all the tags still attached and is beautiful, just as described & pictured.
Always check out the seller before buying anything, especially anything expensive!!! You can do this by reading feedback that other buyers have left about the seller.
I personally really enjoy buying things on ebay!

yes, i paid $70 dollars for a cell phone that was supposed to be in perfect condition, when it got here and i recieved a call i could hear the person talking but they couldnt hear me, so i took it to my service provider, they "sent it off" and tried everything they could to fix it, it wasent happening, so i emailed the guy back, never got a response, emailed ebay, never really got any where, it was awful, now i think twice before ordering things like that off of ebay!

No, but my cousin did. He won an auction for a laptop, sent payment via Paypal and got nothing. Paypal said tell the FBI about it, which he did but I don't think anything came out of it.

Yes, it happened last summer. I accidentally bought something that I had to send a check for (I usually use paypal), after sending the check and it cleared I waited 3weeks for it to get to my house and it never showed. I filed a complaint but it did no good.

You only get scammed if you don't check the seller thoroughly, or if your just freaking retarded.

Yes, they lied like hell, and neither eBay or Paypal did anything about it. They lie like hell about the protection they offer.
Am in process of reporting that to the FTC.
