He has been shedding for over 6 weeks with just the feet left now. His toes are all shriveled up under the dry skin. He is too small to try and help him get the skin off.

A Crested gecko should shed in a matter of hours, a day or two at the very most, not weeks. If the toes have been stuck in an old shed this long and look all shriveled they may be dead will have a very good chance of falling off. Put it in a container with warm wet paper towels or soak his feet in very shallow water until it comes off. The longer you wait the more toes he will lose. You really need to raise the humidty in it's enclosure.

It sounds like you may have been keeping the humidity too low. Do you mist him several times a day? If so, you need to up that. Do you have a humidity gauge in the cage? If so, what is it reading? If the skin doesn't come off, he could lose his toes. I would suggest taking a small plastic container with a lid...with holes in it to breathe and put him in it with some paper towels soaked with warm water a few times a day for about 30 minutes each. You can also try mixing some reptile shedding aide in with the water. Just a little bit, but it does help.

Yep, humidity problems. This is why it's -always- best to get a care and maintenance book, if not -before- purchasing a new reptile at least -when- you purchase a new reptile. You would know the needed humidity level and this would have never happened. I hope he hasn't lost all his toes, and I hope this is a lesson for future refrence when you buy something because it "looks cool".

Sorry if I sound harsh, but it's the facts of reptile keeping.

its needs a bath or sauna. hers how to do it get a small container with a top, like a plastic take out box. put a warm wet paper towel in the bottom and mist the geckos with warm water and put the top on leave for 15 minutes, (keep your eye on it) take your gecko out use a qtip and roll it on the feel to remove excess shed, if it didnt come off in the bath.
