Concurrent jurisdiction is where two courts have the ability to try a case. The best example is a military court has jurisdction over military personnel. If a soldier commits a crime outside a military base, the civilian court and military court can try him.

Example: You live and own a company in State A. You are ripped off by company based in State B for $100,000. State and Federal Court probably share concurrent jurisdiction (i.e. either has jurisdiction over the case, and you can chose whether which system to file in). In other words, you can forum shop and chose which venue gives you the most advantage.
