I am looking for articles on Bars or Bar-Staff being sued for over-serving the people who are drinking.

Perhaps because the person caused an accident.. or possibly death..

Please help me with articles and/or URL's if you can:)

Thanks a bunch!

YES!!!!! Try researching the Dram Shop Law at http://www.tabc.state.tx.us

This is from their site:

What are the consequences to a seller/server, if they serve or sell alcohol to an intoxicated person?
An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500, by confinement in jail for not more than one year, or by both.

If a person has been previously convicted of this violation, or the sale to a minor, a second violation is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000, by confinement in jail for not more than one year, or by both.

According to United States government Constitution and guidelines, a person may only be sued if that person violated the limits and laws. Yes, a person may be sued. I"m a 22 year old lawyer. The limits depend on every bar or state.

I work at Yosemite in the summer months, and at the start of each season, every employee has to take an alcohol awareness class that's about 2 hours long. The section of the park I work has no alcohol at all, but we still have to take the class. The reason, is so we are aware of what to look for when we come across somebody who may be intoxicated. Some of the things I see some people doing at the park is unbelievable. If they do this kind of stupidity sober, I'd hate to see how they would act with a few drinks in them.
